To ensure that your four-legged companion grows up healthy, it is important to feed them a diet that is adapted to their development. This should be tailored to the age and needs of your young dog. From the 7th month of life, young dogs have left the puppy stage - and grow much more slowly. Weight gain also decreases from this point onwards. Our Happy Dog Sensible Junior Chicken, Salmon & Potato is particularly suitable as food for sensitive young dogs that are no longer in the ‘main growth phase’. In order to avoid nutritional growth disorders, the food is adapted to the more moderate protein and energy requirements.

The gluten-free recipe with tasty chicken, nutritious salmon and easily digestible potato results in a tasty and optimally digestible complete food. The addition of valuable New Zealand mussels supports the musculoskeletal system. The fats from fish and linseed contained in the food care for the skin and coat - and are also gentle on the stomach and intestines. How long should Sensible Junior Chicken, Salmon & Potato be fed?

We recommend Sensible Junior Chicken, Salmon & Potato from 7 up to and including 18 months of age. After that, your puppy is fully grown: only then is it time to switch to adult dog food. Our Happy Dog Sensible line, for example, has the right follow-up food for your furry friend.

Why do the heart-shaped kibbles have a hole in the centre?

The unique heart shape of our dry food is easier for puppies to chew. The hole in the centre makes the kibble break up more quickly. The larger surface area makes them particularly easy to digest in the gastrointestinal tract.

General feeding guide:
• Weigh young dogs regularly and document weight development.
• It may be necessary to adapt the amount of food for individual pets.
• Do not give too much to eat – do not exceed an average growth rate.
• If you give snacks, reduce the amount of food accordingly. Hint: use part of the daily food ration as a snack substitute.
• The food can be given dry or soaked briefly in warm water to soften.
• Split the daily food ration between several meals (2-3).
• Make sure fresh drinking water is available at all times.
