Is your dog already a sprightly pensioner? So you can continue to share many great times with your senior dog, it’s important to move them on to a specialised dog food for senior dogs from a certain age. When a dog should be classed as a senior depends on the individual dog; however, large breed dogs tend to age faster than small breeds. As they get older, the dog’s metabolism adjusts and their internal organs don’t work as efficiently. A good dry food for senior dogs takes these changes into account and is adapted for them.

For this reason, when we developed our Happy Dog NaturCroq Senior, we selected especially high-quality and easily digestible ingredients that would be gentle on the intestine and had moderate protein content. In addition, this formulation, with its predominantly regionally-sourced ingredients such as poultry and whole grain, has lower levels of sodium and phosphorous and therefore cares for the dog’s internal organs. Valuable locally-sourced herbs round off the tasty formulation. The dry food provides senior dogs with all the essential nutrients they need for vitality and joie de vivre in the third stage of life.

The daily ration should be given in 2-3 portions. Offer dry or pour warm, fresh water (approx. 60 °C) over it and let it soak in for a few minutes. Pouring warm water over dry food may improve acceptance for some dogs. Keep fresh drinking water available at all times. If additional snacks or other additional products are being given, the amount of food must be reduced. It may be necessary to adjust the amount of feed individually.
